Court Mandated Community Service hours are available at LHS. They are approved on a case by case basis by the Outreach Manager. The fee for this program is $50 per person. Individuals who need to fulfill court mandated community service hours may do so at the Lexington Humane Society if they meet the following guidelines:
- Are over the age of 18.

- Provide court documentation stating the offense, number of hours to be completed, and date by which they must be completed.
Community service volunteers are scheduled only between the hours of 12pm and 5pm, any day of the week, and attendance is strictly enforced. Responsibilities include administrative and facility help, as well as custodial & janitorial services - direct work with the animals is not available.
All community service hours must be scheduled in advance. Drop-ins are not accommodated. Interested individuals who meet the minimum requirements stated above must contact the Director of Community Engagement.
Our community service program has very limited capacity, with no guarantee that a timely opening will be available. Submitting a request will only put you on the waiting list. When an opportunity becomes available, our Outreach Manager will contact those on the waiting list.
