Our main campus at 1600 Old Frankfort Pike reopened to the public on Tuesday, May 26th, with a controlled customer experience. Before visiting, please click here to familiarize yourself with the current adoption policies in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this time we are limiting nonessential activities and programs, such as Check-Me-Out, birthday parties and group tours. Our Everyday Adoption Center (1945 Pavilion Way) is open to the public and we still have lots of pets looking for forever homes! If you are interested in visiting, please click here to familiarize yourself with the current policies in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. All surfaces (counters, door knobs, etc.) are being sanitized every two hours. Our staff are taking the proper precautions recommended by the CDC. As always, in the event of an emergency, we have plans in place to make sure the LHS animals still receive the utmost care.

To date, there is no evidence that companion animals and pets can spread the COVID-19 virus to people. As always, we encourage visitors to wash their hands before and after interacting with each pet. Just as it would be with any emergency situation, we encourage pet owners to have an emergency preparedness plan in place. This includes keeping your pets up-to-date on vaccinations, having proper identification and keeping extra supplies on hand.
