Intern With LHS

Do you have a passion for animals? Do you want to make an impact on the lives of animals in our community? Join our team as an intern!

As an intern, you will work closely with the Fundraising Department here at LHS which means getting involved in a large number of activities! LHS interns help with the planning and execution of key fundraising events throughout the year, such as Mutt Strut and Doggie Paddle, as well as community events like Relax with Rover. Because we want our interns to get as much out of their experience as possible, we are very flexible in helping to get practice in many areas such as special event management, social media, marketing, volunteer management and more.

"My favorite CI memory would have to be the first day of my internship. I walked into the office on my first day as an intern at the Lexington Humane Society to find a 300-pound pig named Frank blocking my desk! I thought it was so funny that the office pet was a pig, whose best friend was a Dachshund named Wilson. Without guidance from my professors and classmates, none of that would have been possible. LHS was the highlight of my senior year!" -Cynthia Grace Wagner
