Check out these notes about Abby from our LHS volunteers!

“Abby Mallard did well on her Check Me Out! She did well in the car, got excited seeing squirrels, and would do a low growl if she saw other dogs. Didn’t really pull on the leash.”

“She is one of the sweetest dogs I walked. Very puppy-ish and likes to stay close and snuggle.”

And here’s what Abby’s foster family had to say!

“Abby is a super sweet and loving girl! She likes to spend her days napping, snacking, and playing with anyone who will play (humans, dogs, and cats!). She has the curious and playful energy of a puppy and learns very quickly. She already knows how to sit, is working on more commands, and has been great walking with a leash. She is also a super loving girl. She loves to cuddle and really wants to make her humans happy. Abby and our forever dog became immediate friends upon meeting. I think Abby would enjoy having another dog playmate! She really likes to play and play wrestle with our dog so she may come on a little strong with dogs who like their space (but I think she’s pretty adaptable!).

Abby also really loves our cat! She brings her full puppy love and curiosity to everything she does so it took a few days for our cat to warm up to her, but now they enjoy playing with each other. Abby would love to go to a home with other pets and/or a human who is willing to take her on walks and play with her everyday to keep her from getting too bored and curious.

I suspect that this might be the first time she’s living inside so she’s still working on being housebroken, but she’s already improved since she first came to our home a week ago. She’s a fast learner so I wouldn’t be surprised if she is fully housebroken by the time someone adopts her. Abby will be such a good, loving companion for someone, and she’s at the perfect age to adopt since she’s still ready to learn new behaviors and habits!”
