Please Read: Spay’sTheWay & COVID-19

Spay’sTheWay is taking the health and safety of our clients and staff very seriously. Here are some things you need to know:

  • Appointments: We are practicing social distancing and limiting lobby traffic to 1 PERSON PER ANIMAL during check-in/out (exceptions will be made if assistance is required). Staff will limit overall lobby capacity as needed. Please be mindful of your proximity to others and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet at all times while you are here.
  • Appointment Cancellations/Reschedules: We understand that some of our clients may need to quarantine or isolate for the foreseeable future. There will be no penalties for cancellations or reschedules during this time. We just ask that you let us know prior to your appointment day. As always, you may have a friend or family member drop off/pick up your pet the day of your appointment if needed.
  • Clinic Cancellations: Upcoming clinics may require cancellation. We will notify every client by phone if a clinic is cancelled and reschedule you at the earliest possible appointment time. Be sure to check your voicemail for any updates or reminder calls from us.
  • Scheduling: We are currently suspending the scheduling of new appointments until at least April 14. You are welcome to leave a message on our appointment line to complete a financial assistance application and be added to our wait list. Please note: We anticipate our program demand will increase for those who cannot afford spay/neuter services at a private vet clinic. We encourage anyone who has the financial means to please schedule your pet with your own vet.

If you have any questions, need to cancel/reschedule an appointment, or want to be added to our wait list, please leave us a voicemail at (859) 233-0044 Ext. 228. Messages are returned in the order they are received, and it make take up to a week to return your call. We appreciate your patience. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and healthy!

Feral Cats

If you have a feral or community cat on your property in need of surgery, contact Spay’sTheWay for assistance. Community cats are altered through a process called trap-neuter-return, or TNR, which compassionately reduces the homeless cat population and saves lives. Cats are humanely trapped; brought into a clinic for spay/neuter, vaccinations, and surgical ear-tip; and returned to the trapping location after recovering from anesthesia.
