Youth Volunteers (Ages 16 and under)

All of us here at the Lexington Humane Society sincerely appreciate your interest in volunteering!

At this time, the volunteer program is dependent on our current need for service and open on a limited basis. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities based on your age, availability, and training. If you are 16 and younger looking for service hours, please refer to the Enrichment Packet, which provides a variety of service activities you can do to best help us at LHS. These service opportunities help us create a comfortable environment for our animals and keep them stimulated, happy, and healthy while they await adoption.

See below for simple ways to help the animals:

  • Hold a donation drive at your school or church to collect needed items for the animals; or purchase/collect items on your own. Click here to view our wish list.
  • Collect money for the animals by running a lemonade stand, garage sale, bake sale, etc.
  • Bake homemade treats for the animals and drop them off at our Adoption Center.
  • After completing any of the above tasks, please contact the Director of Community Engagement at [email protected] if you need proof of volunteer hours.
