MORE INFO: Lexington, KY – Monday, April 24, 2:30-4 pm, LHS is celebrating the adoption  of long-term resident canine, Ginny, who has been living at LHS for over three years. This event  is proudly sponsored by MetLife.

Ginny, a 5-year-old Boxer mix, has been with LHS since December 2019. Thanks to dedicated  volunteers such as Becky Johnson and hard-working staff, LHS’ exclusive enrichment program  Train-A-Bull, exclusive Henry’s Houses, enrichment tools, and activities, LHS is able to commit  to homeless but hopeful canines for as long as it takes to find them a home to call their own. For  most dogs, it takes a few weeks to find a new home; for others, it takes a bit longer; and for  Ginny, it’s been well over 1,500 days.

“Ginny is happy and healthy, and she loves her life. LHS volunteers have taken her for daily walks, car rides, and romps in our play yards. They allow her to spend the end of each day  relaxing on a couch in one of Henry’s Houses. She even goes on weekend hiking trips. But all of  this together does not make a home. But…..the time has FINALLY come to celebrate Ginny

finding her forever home.” says Meghan Hawkins, Director of Community Engagement for  LHS.

The Lexington Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that helps animals find their forever homes. The Lexington Humane Society helps almost 4,000 animals each year. LHS has many  special programs to keep the animals waiting for their homes happy and healthy. To learn more  about LHS, visit AdoptLove.net.
