Your Dog’s Favorite Event is Back on September 6 at Southland Pool.
Lexington, KY – July 10, 2025 – Lexington’s largest pool party for dogs returns on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Southland Pool. Hosted annually by the Lexington Humane Society (LHS), this all-day event gives dogs the rare opportunity to swim, socialize, and enjoy the pool before it closes for the season.
Since 2016, Doggie Paddle has grown into a beloved community tradition, drawing nearly 900 dogs in 2024. This year, LHS expects even more attendees.
“We like to say Doggie Paddle is your dog’s favorite event,” said Meghan Hawkins, Director of Development for LHS. “It’s a great time for the people, but the dogs have an even better day. Even dogs that don’t swim have a blast making new furry friends or running laps around the pool deck.”
In addition to swimming, the event features dog-friendly games with prizes, local vendors, and exclusive LHS merchandise. All proceeds benefit the animals at LHS.
“Doggie Paddle is one of our biggest fundraisers,” Hawkins added. “Events like this are essential, especially during the summer months when we have nearly 600 animals in our care.”
