Over the past weekend, 53 cats and kittens were surrendered from a single home in Lexington to Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control, and have now been transferred into the care of your Lexington Humane Society.
It’s a big number – and it’s exactly why we’re here.
Taking in 53 animals at once is also a significant, unexpected expense, with immediate medical and daily care costs that add up quickly and stretch resources fast.
They’re safe. They’re receiving medical care. And in the coming days, they’ll begin going up for adoption as they’re ready, with some already available.
We can only say “yes” to moments like this because of YOU – because our community donates, fosters, volunteers, and shops our wishlists.
If adopting isn’t the right fit, you can still make a difference: donate, foster, volunteer, or send supplies our way. Every gift matters.
These 53 cats are safe today because this community shows up. We ask you to continue standing with us – today and every day.
Help turn 53 lives into 53 fresh starts. Donate today.
