Lexington Humane Society Community Event Guidelines

LHS Involvement

With written approval, you may use the LHS name and logo. All materials using the logo must be approved by the LHS development department before final printing or promotion. A minimum guaranteed donation of $200 is required for LHS animals or personnel to attend event. LHS reserves the right to attend community events that best utilize our time and resources.

Promotional Support

On behalf of the business, LHS will help promote the event through the following: at least one LHS Twitter post; provision of an LHS quote for any press release the business puts together; and inclusion of the event on LHS’s online event calendar.

All advertisements and other event-related promotional materials used to promote the event and LHS’s involvement must be approved by the LHS development department prior to use.

Financial Information

LHS will not assume any legal and/or financial liability for the event. Event expenses cannot be paid by LHS and is the responsibility of the business.

Proceeds from events should be presented to LHS within 30 days after the event, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Licenses & Permits

It is the responsibility of the business organizing the event to obtain all applicable permits, licenses, and insurance certificates that may be required for an event.

All contracts and permits related to the event must be issued in the name of the business and signed by an authorized representative of the business. Contracts or permits must not commit LHS to any contractual obligation and no representative of the business may sign anything on behalf of LHS.

Adoptable Pets at Events

LHS may be able to bring adoptable animals to the event if agreed upon in writing in advance, weather permitting. At this time, we are unable to offer on-site adoptions.

General Guidelines for Event Approval

The submission of this application does not guarantee LHS participation in the proposed event. An LHS representative will contact you within 5 business days regarding your application. Changes to the proposed event must be made in writing.

All events will be considered on an individual basis. Generally, the following events cannot be approved:

  • Events that require LHS to sell merchandise, tickets, coupons, etc.
  • Events that result in the sale, auction, or raffling of animals
