How To Get Started: Adult Volunteers

Thanks for your interest in becoming an LHS volunteer!

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on our volunteers to help us in every aspect of providing quality care for our animals.

We’re thrilled you’re interested in joining our team!

 

Current volunteer opportunities for adults include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Officemates - clerical duties, such as data entry, fielding phone calls and answering general questions, interacting with visitors, staff, and the general public
  • Housekeeping - helping with dishes and laundry
  • Animal enrichment
  • Special event preparation
  • Fundraising
  • Landscaping

LHS Volunteer Questionnaire

Due to the high volume of volunteer inquiries, please allow us 2 weeks to contact you about your questionnaire, phone calls, or emails.

 

Our potential volunteers must do the following:

  1. Submit a volunteer questionnaire — All volunteers MUST complete a questionnaire. Once received, we will contact you for more information.
  2. Have and allow email access — Email is our primary method of communication. Otherwise you will not be informed of your approval and any pertinent information, such as volunteer needs and upcoming events. Please be sure your email address is entered correctly on your questionnaire.
  3. Commit to volunteering for a minimum of 4 hours a month — With our flexible hours, you'll be able to tailor your volunteer experience around your schedule.
